Mombasa is Kenya's largest seaport. Being the primary coastal city, Mombasa caters to a mixture of businesses, traders, labourers and cultures. The beaches near and beyond the city limit offer a lot of leisure and adventure water sports activities. Active coastal tourism adds to the city's revenue, but the primary source of income is port-related businesses. The city also gains revenue from a local cement factory and an oil refinery.
